Periodontal cosmetic surgery is available to change the position of your gum tissue around your teeth. In some cases, it may be necessary to raise, lower or reshape it to improve the appearance of your smile. This procedure is frequently done prior to having your general dentist place new crowns or porcelain veneers, thus making the teeth look normal in size and shape.
In cases where the root(s) of the teeth have become exposed making the teeth look very long, it is now possible with connective tissue grafts to completely cover the exposed roots obtaining total tissue regeneration to it's orignial level! Therefore, an asymetrical smile can be corrected by soft tissue grafts.
Here are some photos to show an example of what is available with these type of procedures.
